Mtxv Privacy Policy

Effective July 21, 2026

Our Principles

Mtxv is a local-first video player. We do not show ads, track you across apps, or include behavioral analytics SDKs. The developer does not operate a server that collects your playback history, media, or usage behavior.

On-Device Data

Playback history, the media index, playback progress, and preferences stay on your device. Credentials for network sources are stored in Apple Keychain. Deleting the app normally removes data in its app container; Keychain retention is managed by the system.

Photos, Files, and Media

Photo imports use Apple’s system picker, and Mtxv receives only videos you select. File imports also use the system document picker. Mtxv does not upload selected media to a developer server.

Network Features

When you use network playback, online subtitles, WebDAV, local network media, or Wi-Fi Transfer, the app connects to servers you enter, select, or configure. Requests may include network addresses, media titles, subtitle search terms, credentials, and your device IP address. Third-party or self-hosted servers may process and log this information under their own policies.

Wi-Fi Transfer moves files between devices on the same local network and does not relay them through a developer server.

Sharing and Retention

The developer does not sell personal data. Because the developer does not receive the local data described above, it is not retained on developer servers. You can clear playback history, delete imported media, or remove app data through the system.

Children and Policy Updates

Mtxv is not designed to collect children’s personal information. If app features or data practices change, we will update this policy and its effective date and provide additional notice where required.
